Also how come most of the planets have air mixes that are safe for a variety y of aliens and humans to breathe in? ANd why aren’t air regulators standard equipment?

Also: gravity. How come thats not a concern for so many different planets with so many different mixes of humans and aliens?

Just because it came from Star Wars, it doesn’t make Jediism any less of a religion.

Talk to me here: http://my-nerd-senses-are-tingling.tumblr.com

What?  The Jedi Code:

There is no Emotion; There is Peace.

There is no Ignorance; There is Knowledge.

There is no Passion; There is Serenity.

There is no Chaos: There is Harmony.

There is no Death; There is the Force.

This is their doctrine.  There’s nothing about this that bothers me in the least.  If it speaks to people, it speaks to people… modern myths aren’t any less relevant to the human condition, or to human spirituality, because they’re modern.

Jedi are down with breaking families and abducting children for indoctrination from infancy, cutting them from all previous cultural ties and identity. Just sayin.

Also that code is whole heap of bullshit. Just sayin’.

Why not cut out the embarrassing middleman of George Lucas and practice a Jung-based spirituality, as interpreted by Joseph Campbell. Because that’s basically all Star Wars is, an intergalactic “The Hero With A Thousand Faces.”

While we’re at it, Joseph Campbell is kind of a huge steaming turd too.

or, you know, people could just go look up Taoism and Chan Buddhism instead of the watered down white boys in space version.

Oh, wait, that’s right, they’d rather HAVE a green puppet as their teacher than real living people - because puppets are easier to relate to than Chinese people…

Totally. Chinese people are esoteric, elliptical, and inscrutable; but people can really feel space puppets. Also, why put yourself through studying translations of ancient Chinese texts when you can watch movies instead?

Honestly, an old friend of mine (a white dude, needless to say) has actually launched a Jedi school in New York and it’s doing quite well. He now considers Bushido and Asian spirituality to be part of “his heritage”.

urrg one wrong!!

just because I’m not as good with the newer pokemon

I got one wrong because they misspelled “Gligar” and made me thing it was a SNEAKY TRICK QUESTION and that “Gilgar” actually was a startup.

This assumption of mine was false.

Along the same lines: Web 2.0 or Star Wars Character? (from wayyyy back in the day) and Cheese or Font.
