My darlings, I just need you to remember
that self-publishing/”indie” means there is, by definition, no quality control.
This goes triple for vanity presses.
Side. Fucking. Eye.
With a side order of Moff’s Law.
We can and do analyze shitty shit that goes on in fandom and fanfic communities, on message boards and in advertizements, EVERYWHERE IT IS.
Right now it’s in a shitty vanity press novel that’s come to our attention.
It’s as worthy of analysis as anything else.
My tits shall not be calmed.
And I expected more from you.
Look. It’s definitely worth analyzing. And it represents a weird fucked-up social phenomenon that needs to be acknowledged. There are tons of people who will not understand that there’s anything wrong with this book, and it’s important to tell them why.
I’m not saying “don’t criticize it”, I’m saying, you probably don’t have to worry about it being wildly popular.
